November 03, 2009

Today is a new beginning in my life. I retired from Paychex yesterday to begin working on our Americana Tour. Although it was difficult saying good-bye to everyone, they have provided me with genuine support. Also, with genuine cash to start our new adventure. We have our first large donation and plan on putting it to good use. As soon as the equipment trailer is ready, I will be bringing it by the Paychex office so the employees can sign the trailer.

Americana Tour

It has been said that America has lost its identity, or that we do not have a culture that defines us. We intend to embark on a 2 year quest to find that identity and define it.

We are seeking funding for a two year photographic journal of America and those things that define “America”. We will be traveling the continental United States and recording images of people, places, and things that define the American culture. We will be visiting towns, cities, State Parks, National Parks, places of interest, and iconic structures that are unique to America, or are a significant part of our history. These visits will be recorded through the lens of my still camera, along with regular posts to the Americana Tour blog, You Tube, and our Facebook and Twitter accounts. Every photographic location will be uploaded to www.POI-Factory.com for everyone to record for their own visits. We will be providing a regular accounting though our media resources as to where we are, what we’re doing, interesting facts about the area, and where we’re going next. We will solicit responses from our readers through these media as to other unique places to visit that may not be as well known as the usual spots. Hopefully this project will gradually build enough momentum to get recognized by national media and possibly mushroom from there.

Potential sponsors will be exposed to millions of individuals that have an interest in travel and have an interest in the products they offer. We will be traveling in a motor home pulling a 16’ equipment trailer. The equipment trailer will have over 200 square feet of advertising space available. We plan on traveling over 50,000 miles in the continental United States over a 2 year period visiting areas of the United States that help define our culture. We will be posting daily commentary and video to all the major social networking media (Americana Tour Blog, You Tube, Facebook, and Twitter). As we travel, more and more interest will grow as more people get involved in the project. In addition to corporate sponsorships, we will be actively soliciting private donations. Depending on their level of donations these individuals will get signed limited edition artwork created on the trip, as we pass through their cities we will invite meet and greets and have them sign the equipment trailer. The more cities we pass through, the greater the level of excitement will be generated as people who have not heard about the project see the rig and want to get involved. Through all the miles traveled, our sponsor’s logos will be exposed to possibly millions of people who will connect with the cause. I believe this could get really big with just a small amount of national media attention. Just one local news station providing a report could grow quickly to national media. All the time our sponsors would be getting additional exposure.

This project is a huge win win for our sponsors and those interested in American history through a photographic view. The exposure for our sponsors will be very positive and potentially reach millions of people. Keep in mind this is a 2 year project and your sponsorship dollars can be allocated over that time frame.

Please consider the highest level of sponsorship you can afford.
